Teaching T3WiJ at Emory University on July 12th, 2008
T3WiJ is an acronym that stands for "Trust the truth, Who is Jesus."
"Cursed is the one who trusts in man,
who depends on flesh for his strength
and whose heart turns away from the LORD.
He will be like a bush in the wastelands;
he will not see prosperity when it comes.
He will dwell in the parched places of the desert,
in a salt land where no one lives.
But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in Him.
He will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit." -- LORD Almighty GOD (Jeremiah 17:5-8)
Amen.
T3WiJ can be written out in a slightly expanded form as " t t t WiJ " to remind us of the three crosses on Mount Calvary combined with the question "Who is Jesus?"
Though T3WiJ is simple, it is impossible without GOD's help.
This is so that none may boast that they saved themselves by choosing to
have T3WiJ in their hearts.
Indeed, on our own, it is impossible to truly trust someone with whom we
have had seemingly no physical interaction much less someone whom we have
seen with our physical eyes. We don't have the master key to our hearts. We are
unable to truly trust others by ourselves.
"With man this is impossible, but with GOD all things are possible."
-- LORD Jesus Christ (Matthew 19:26)
Amen.
How does GOD do it?
It is written that GOD changes hearts of stone to hearts of flesh and gives us a new spirit (Ezekiel 11:19-20 and 36:26) so that we become born again of water and Spirit (John 3:3 and 3:5) thereby able to trust His one and only begotten Son, Jesus,
even though we have had seemingly no physical interaction with Him:
