Jesus Christ is the Divine Healer

The following is the testimony of Andrew B. Chung, MD/PhD who professes an expertise in medicine and serves people as their physician. His medical and scientific credentials are easily verifiable on line so that you may be assured of the veracity of his testimony about Jesus Christ being the Divine Healer. Although Dr. Chung is a born-again Christian, he has not been "called" to become a religious leader (pastor). The testimony he gives is not as a pastor but as a physician. His calling remains being a cardiologist and a physician-scientist for it allows him to fully use the gifts bestowed upon him by the Holy Spirit to glorify GOD.

Jesus performed many "miracles" during HIS ministry here on earth. Indeed, many of these "miracles" or "signs" involved healing people whose conditions were beyond the medicine of the Biblical time period. It is easy for a physician to admire Jesus' practice of medicine because it was done without the worldly constraints of fee-for-service. Many physicians would observe that modern medicine now has "cures" for many of the conditions that Jesus remains able to heal. This observation has diminished the miraculousness of the "signs" in the eyes of many physicians. However, there is one "sign" that should remain amazing to those who have knowledge about the neurological sciences. This one "sign" is not the raising of the dead which continues to capture the fascination of the lay public and has held the greater emphasis by the writers of the Bible.

The Bible passage that describes this superlative "sign" is from the Book of John, Chapter 9:1-12:

As HE went along, HE saw a man blind from birth. HIS disciples asked HIM, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" "Neither this man nor his parents sinned," said Jesus, "but this happened so that the work of GOD might be displayed in his life. As long as it is day, we must do the work of HIM who sent ME. Night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the light of the world." Having said this, HE spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man's eyes. "Go," HE told him, "wash in the Pool of Siloam" (this word means Sent). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.

His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, "Isn't this the same man who used to sit and beg?" Some claimed that he was. Others said, "No, he only looks like him."

But he himself insisted, "I am the man."

"How then were your eyes opened?" they demanded.

He replied, "The MAN they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. HE told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see."

"Where is this MAN?" they asked him.

"I don't know," he said.

The Bible later describes the pivotal "sign" of raising Lazarus from the dead in the Book of John, Chapter 11:43-44:

When HE had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face.

Today, physicians can easily restore "life" to someone whose heart has stopped beating for several minutes by the simple administration of an electric shock. However, most physicians would say that to restore vision to someone who has not had vision since birth would be impossible. That it would require the growth of new brain cells and new synaptic connections. That it would require a lot of work and a lot of time if it were possible. That one would have to create things de novo. The writers of the Bible would not have known this in their time. Most non-scientists do not know this in the present time. Jesus worked harder to restore the vision of the man who had been blind since birth (making a mud paste from HIS saliva to apply to the eyes) than HE did to raise Lazarus from the dead (by simply calling out in a loud voice). Moreover, it took extra time (the blind man had to walk to Siloam to wash his eyes). This only makes sense to those who have a current understanding of the neurological sciences. The writers of the Bible did not have this knowledge. What they described went contrary to their understandable bias of placing greater importance on the raising of Lazarus from the dead and to their lack of knowledge of modern medical science back in their time.

This proves that LORD Christ Jesus is GOD and that the stories in the Bible are true.

Please feel free to share this testimony to all who seek The Truth (most scientists and physicians should be in this category).

From John 14:6:

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through ME..."

Amen.

Simply confess publicly that Jesus Christ is your LORD and Savior, Who chose to suffer terribly and die horribly on the cross to save you from your deadly sins:

"Jesus Christ is my LORD, my Savior, and my GOD. HE died on the cross to save me from my deadly sins. HIS rising up on the third day means HE has successfully saved me."

Congratulations, you are now saved from the wages of sin which is death. You now have eternal life.

How do you start feeling that you are no longer of this world just as our LORD is not of this world so that you will have HIS peace, which passes all worldly understanding?

Follow HIM by getting baptized just as HE was baptized in the name of GOD the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit so that you will be reborn of water and the Holy Spirit. It is by being filled with the Holy Spirit, just as HE is filled with the Holy Spirit that you will receive all the blessings of HIS salvation.

Prayerfully in Jesus' amazing love,

Andrew <><
